![]() so i thought instead of leaving you (& me) w nothing i’d make a remake which i did. i never liked the song myself but i can’t deny how much it helped people & i can’t ignore its history or the way you feel about the track. anyway i had no choice but to take it down & i felt so so bad about it. i would’ve handled it very differently personally but i understand where they’re coming from. no hate towards them tho i took from them (the sample) & they’re some random unknown musicians, they saw a money opportunity & tried pushing it. i could never let some random people own 50% of my story, pain & success. i had already explained what the song meant to me & all of u, that it’s way bigger than their greed for money, that i couldn’t let them own half of it because it’s mine & it’s my little baby & there’s so much history to the song that u guys (my listeners&followers) don’t even know, all in vain. ![]() we went back & forth a few weeks but never got anywhere so they finally said i had 3 days to pay them $15k+give them 50% of the song or they’d take legal action to have it removed. their work was about 20% of the song yet i offered them 30%, they refused. When asked about this, lil happy lil sad answered on Instagram here.Ībout let me die: as a lot of you’ve noticed let me die has a new version on all platforms, i tried keeping the original trust me but the people who played the sample wanted to own an unreasonable 50% of the song & i couldn’t give them that as i made everything else all on my own when i had nothing & no one. In early April 2019, let me die was replaced on Spotify by another MP3, while otherwise remaining untouched.
